POSTPONED UNTIL 2021: Europa conference 2020: Prof Colin Haselgrove
*IMPORTANT* EUROPA POSTPONED UNTIL JUNE 2021: We have postponed the Europa Conference that was due to take place this June at the University of Leicester in honour of Professor Colin Haselgrove. Our conference organisers, led by Annabell Zander, have worked extremely hard to reschedule it and we will now meet in Leicester a year later in 2021 with the same programme. The provisional dates are the 11th-13th June, and we will confirm these with you later in the year.
For those of you who booked to attend the conference through Eventbrite there are two options available. You can either be refunded your money by Eventbrite or leave it there and it will count as your registration for 2021.
Prof Colin Haselgrove
The Prehistoric Society Europa Conference 2020: People and Society in late Prehistoric Europe will be held at the University of Leicester from 19–21 June 2020. This year the conference celebrates the achievements of Prof Colin Haselgrove, University of Leicester, in the field of European Prehistory.
Details of speakers and a downloadable booking form can be found on the right. The Eventbrite online booking form can be found HERE (Postal bookings must be received by 1st June 2020)
Guidance and charges for those wishing to advertise at the conference can be found in the document at the right of this page.
IMPORTANT EUROPA 2020 UPDATE:
After the conference details were circulated to members, Leicester-based rock band Kasabian announced a big concert near the Europa Conference venue on the evening of Saturday 20 June. As a result, most city centre accommodation for the Saturday evening in Leicester is now taken (it was booked out within hours of the concert being announced!). We have secured a few options with preferential rates for Thursday to Saturday nights, 18-20 June. Once you book your conference ticket you will receive a confirmation email with more details on how to book your accommodation.
We have slightly compressed the conference programme on Saturday to minimise noise disturbances from the concert and to potentially allow delegates to leave Leicester on Saturday evening if they wish, which now finishes at 17:00. Please see an updated programme download on the right of this page
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but it it is entirely due to events beyond our control, which could not be foreseen.
