R.M. Baguley Award

The R.M. Baguley Award is presented each year for the best contribution (in Council's opinion) to the Proceedings of the Prehistoric Society.

Rodney Baguley, B.A., Ph.D., D.Litt., was a regular participant in the Society's study tours in the late 1970s/early 80s and listed his interests as 'polar research' and 'exploration'. His lasting legacy to the Society was to inaugurate the R.M.Baguley prize, when he presented a set of wine glasses in 1979 (each engraved by himself), to be awarded each year to the author(s) of the best article (in the opinion of Council) in that year's Proceedings.
